Previous Requirement – qualification to RYA Day Skipper standard.

This course opens the door for the skipper wishing to make longer coastal passages. It is an essential element when working towards the RYA Practical Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster examinations.

The course includes:

Rules of the road -navigation - navigation lights – tides
tidal streams - positional fixes - passage plans

There are three examination papers included in the course:

International rules for the prevention of collision at sea.
Advanced navigation – charts and electronics
Meteorology

All RYA course material and practice charts will be provided within the course fee.
Students will be expected to provide pencils, eraser, dividers and plotter.

The course will be held at Clevedon Sailing Club and the fee includes a full membership of the Sailing Club. Students will be entitled to use the social and sailing facilities within the Club Rules.
